Planted in 1998 on the Northwestern slopes of the Simonsberg in well- drained Duplex soil containing granite. 6 tons/ ha harvested at 24°B.
100% Merlot, fermented dry on skins. 12 months in 30% new medium-toast French oak. pH 3.56, Alc. 14.7%, Sugar 4.1 g/l, Acid 5.5 g/l.
Clear garnet red color. Hints of smoke with underlying berry aromas. Soft tannins with plum notes.
